Where it wins and loses

against the average for this category

Strengths

Polyester: the most spin and the best durability of the string types

Thin at 1.20 mm — more bite on the ball and more feel through the hand

Shaped profile (textured square) — the edges grab the ball rather than sliding across it

Trade-offs

Loses tension faster than any other material, and the least forgiving on the arm

A 1.20 mm string breaks sooner than a thicker one

Shaped strings notch and saw against each other faster than round ones
